    Guide rail to be installed in East Lyme, Waterford next week

    The state Department of Transportation is announcing that a guide rail installation project on Route 213 (Great Neck Road) in Waterford and Route 156 (West Main St.) in East Lyme, will begin on Monday, Oct. 16 and run through Monday, Nov. 16. Work hours will be from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, according to a DOT news release.

    PGP Group, doing business as Atlas Companies, is conducting the work.

    The DOT said drivers can expect lane closures on Route 213 in Waterford, from Route 156 to Goshen Road, and on Route 156 in East Lyme from the Old Lyme town line to Route 1, according to the release. Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be used. 

    "Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions," the release stated. "Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity."
