East Lyme first selectman debate, candidates forum scheduled for Monday
The Day has scheduled a debate from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 30, at the East Lyme High School auditorium with the candidates for first selectman. The debate is sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce of Eastern Connecticut.
Once the debate is finished, students from Rose Ann Hardy's Contemporary Issues class at the high school (Hardy also is a town selectwoman who is running for re-election) will introduce the candidates for the municipal election in the order they appear on the ballot. The candidates then will have a minute to speak.
The forum following the debate is expected to last about 50 minutes and also will take place in the high school auditorium. The candidates then will be available in the commons area to answer informal questions or to meet people.
