Salem Lions Club hosts 25th annual 5K Road Race
The Salem Lions Club hosted its 25th annual 5K Road Race and children’s fun run on Saturday, April 14. Nearly 200 runners from across the state participated in the events. Funds raised from the race support Lions initiatives such as Camp Sunrise, the Salem School DARE Program and a variety of scholarships.
Sybil Shapiro of Clinton took first place in the women’s category for the second year, and resident Samuel Whittalser won first place in the men’s category for the third year. Isabelle Paggioli and Jackson Mikolinski won first place in their respective categories in the one-mile fun run. The club also recognized the Run 169 Towns group for participating in the race again this year.
