Getting in some practice time in East Lyme
East Lyme — Adeline Smith of East Lyme was working on her basketball skills Thursday on the courts at Peretz Park in Niantic.
Smith, who was home-schooled through high school, this fall will attend the University of Connecticut at Avery Point, where she will play on the women's basketball team. She said she was glad when the hoops at the Peretz Park courts recently were reinstalled, giving her a place to practice close to home.
