New London — The downtown is already looking seasonably festive.

Every year on Nov. 1, City Center District staff members and volunteers start decorating downtown with holiday wreaths and putting up a tree at Parade Plaza.

District employee Jason Clark and volunteer Caleb Russell on Wednesday were working on hanging wreaths on lampposts along State Street.

"It seems early but here we are," Clark said.
