Staff from the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection use Marsh Master amphibious marsh buggies to mow the grass on the west side of the Dr. William A. Niering Natural Area Preserve at Harkness Memorial State Park in Waterford Monday, Nov. 23, 2020.
The preserve, which straddles Goshen Cove to the west side of the state park, is named for Dr. William A. Niering, a conservationist and scientist who taught at Connecticut College.
