Lebanon — Members of the staff of the Southeastern Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence have tested positive for COVID-19, though officials declined to specify the number of people involved or the facility or facilities where they work.

SCADD operates several substance abuse treatment facilities, including one at its Lebanon Pines location, which also houses its headquarters.

“We do not have any confirmed positive client cases in any of our programs right now,” Stacey Lawton, SCADD’s chief executive officer, wrote in an email Friday afternoon. “I prefer not to comment on staff for privacy reasons. We are following CDC guidelines. Anyone who is not feeling well for any reason, is asked not to report to work. All staff are screened and temped upon arrival at work.”

Patrick McCormack, director of health for the Uncas Health District, confirmed that SCADD had reported positive COVID-19 cases and that his agency had contacted the state Department of Public Health, which will provide help with contact tracing.

In April, SCADD halted admissions at its detox facility at 47 Coit St., New London, after a staff member there was hospitalized with a suspected case of COVID-19.
