Groton — With travel discouraged to help stem the spread of COVID-19, some families continue to look for entertainment close to home.

Tanya and Lloyd Wessam on Friday made their first visit to Fort Griswold Battlefield State Park. Tanya said they have lived in Groton for six years, but Friday they were just down the street picking up books for their children at the Bill Memorial Library and decided to visit the park.

She said they've been having fun exploring what's in their own backyard during the pandemic.
