Westerly gallery holds annual all members show

Linda King, West Passage, Mixed Media

Diversity describes the beauty of October with its panoply of natural colors. It is a season of joy, harvest and celebration, a perfect time for the Artists’ Cooperative Gallery of Westerly to celebrate its diverse membership with the Oct. 1 opening of “Creating Joy - The Annual All Members Show.”

The opening reception from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday will include food and wine served in keeping with COVID precautions.

A wide variety of artwork is spread throughout the gallery, including traditional paintings, sculpture, abstracts, fiber arts, wood, clay, jewelry and more. The show runs through the end of the month.

October also begins anew the gallery’s tradition of offering education to the public with its first workshop of 2021, “Paper-making.” Artist member Patricia Cheyne will guide participants in the craft of hand-making paper.

There will be two sessions, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 18, and Oct. 25. The fee is $80 for ACGOW members and $110 for non-members.

The Artists’ Cooperative Gallery of Westerly is located at 14 Railroad Ave., Westerly. Gallery hours are Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m., and Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
