    Friends & Neighbors: Stonington’s Conger earns scholarship

    The Algernon Sydney Sullivan Foundation, a century-old organization that honors, supports and educates emerging servant leaders at colleges and universities across the American South, has announced that Elizabeth Conger of Stonington has been named a 2021 Sullivan Foundation Scholarship winner.

    Currently a student at Sewanee: University of the South in Sewanee, Tenn., Conger will receive a scholarship valued at $1,000, and is renewable annually for four years.

    Awarded each year since 1934, Sullivan Scholarships celebrate incoming freshmen at 23 partner colleges and universities who possess exemplary character and integrity along with a passion for serving others.

    This year’s 122 Sullivan Scholarship winners will divide more than $940,000 in scholarship funds.
