Open Collections Day at the Lyman Allyn Art Museum
New London — Collections management associate Chrissy Winkler spent her Thursday working in the Hendel Library of the Lyman Allyn Art Museum during Open Collections Day.
Winkler received a grant to inventory the museum's collection of art, artifacts and objects. She locates pieces that have paperwork, cleans and updates their condition and photographs the objects, then updates information in the museum's system.
On the third Thursday of each month, the museum hosts a Open Collections day so people can watch Winkler work and so objects in the museum's collection, which may not have been exhibited, are more accessible for visitors to see.
