    Ducks race down the Yantic River

    Norwich — The Greater Norwich Area Chamber of Commerce held its duck race Saturday, sending hundreds of rubber ducks down the Yantic River.

    A sponsors' race was held first at Fireman's Field near Yantic Fire Department, then the open race for community members who "adopted" 1,300 ducks for a chance to win prizes.

    Proceeds from the event, which also included other activities, will go to the Yantic Fire Department and the chamber.
