Norwich Memories: Bath and Franklin streets

The corner of Bath and Franklin streets, circa 1885.

The corner of Bath and Franklin streets, circa 1885. The main building in the photograph is long gone. During the 1950s and 1960s “One-Hour Martinizing” was located in a building on this spot. Today it is a parking lot.

The steeple in the upper left, which was part of the Broadway Church, was severely damaged by lightning in 1888, and had to be removed. It was never replaced. The poles are for the telegraph system.
