There was a great turnout last month for the first New London Chapter/USA Dance of 2023. The Cartells band put on an exciting show in Groton, with a wide range of musical offerings that provided an opportunity for many types of dance styles.

The monthly dances are open to the public and feature live bands, a large hardwood dance floor, and a lesson given by a professional dance instructor. The Feb. 11 dance will feature Jillian Grey and the Cherry Pie Band. The lesson will be the popular East Coast Swing from 7 to 7:30, followed by dancing till 9:45.

Dances are held the second Saturday of the month at the Groton Community Center, 61 Fort Hill Road, behind the Town Hall. Admission is $8 for USA Dance members, and $15 for non-members. Membership is only $35 per year, and you can sign up at the dance.

Singles are always welcome, as there are plenty of people to dance with. So grab your Valentine and join the dance floor fun.
