    EMPLOYMENT

    Carolyn Welch recently joined Chelsea Groton Bank as Vice President, Commercial Loan Officer. She will be based at the Bank’s Lending Center in Glastonbury. Most recently, Welch was Senior Vice President, Market Manager–Business Banking at Citizens Bank. Prior to that, she was a Commercial Loan Officer at Community Investment Corporation. She lives in Wallingford.

    Lisa A. Cochrane of Niantic has been a sales associate since 2015.

    Liberty Bank will present a free event for small business owners, called “Positioning Your Business for Growth: Next Level Financing,” on Sept. 29 from 8 to 9:30 a.m. at the Uncasville Diner, 884 Norwich-New London Turnpike, Uncasville.

    Liberty Bank Vice President Mark Vickery will discuss lending options and government programs available to assist small businesses seeking growth. A free hot breakfast will be served.

    The Chamber of Commerce of Eastern CT is seeking nominations for its Military Community Support Award, which recognizes a business that has gone above and beyond in showing support to our local men and women in uniform. Companies nominated must be a member of the Chamber of Commerce of Eastern CT. Self-nominations are allowed. The recipient business receives special recognition in the 7th Annual Military Appreciation Breakfast on Nov. 4, and will be given a plaque, speaking opportunity, and two complimentary reservations to the breakfast.
