Waterford — Thomas Charles Evans and Susan Browning Evans of Pleasure Beach, Waterford celebrate 60 years of marriage August 27, 2020. Born in Norwich, they became sweethearts at Norwich Free Academy (class of ‘56). Despite attending different colleges, Tom at Holy Cross and Sue at UConn, they continued a close relationship and were wed at Saint Patrick Cathedral (Norwich) in 1960.

Travels with the Air Force took them from Connecticut to many other areas of the U.S., including Oregon, Virginia, and Texas, but their hearts remained tied to the northeast. Summer family vacations brought their family back to Pleasure Beach every year. Therefore, when retirement called, Tom and Sue returned “home” to Connecticut in 1988.

Their dedication to one another is admired and celebrated by their four children, Tom, David, Richard, and Karin; along with ten grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. They are an inspiration to friends and family and are loved beyond words.
