    USS Tautog class joins the fleet

    Groton — Fifty-eight sailors of "Class 18200," USS Tautog, graduated from Basic Enlisted Submarine School on April 13

    Seaman Apprentice Sterling Bubolz was both class honor graduate with a 95.50 GPA, and recipient of the Submarine Heritage Award. Bubolz continues in apprentice team training.

    Seaman Kenneth Albert received the Navy Core Values Award.

    Seaman Apprentice Cameron Adkins, Seaman Recruit Andrew King, Seaman Recruit Docmarten Knoefler, Seaman Kieran Fox, Seaman Apprentice Benjamin Leon, and Seaman Apprentice Micael LeBlanc were graduates with distinction.

    Basic Enlisted Submarine School is a six-week introduction to the basic theory, construction and operation of nuclear-powered submarines. In preparation for an assignment, sailors receive instruction on shipboard organization, submarine safety and escape procedures.
