Envision Kindness — the East Lyme-based nonprofit that strives to inspire kindness, empathy, and compassion — has announced the judges for its 2016 Envision Kindness Student Film Contest. They are: Jennifer Westfeldt, the Guilford native who co-wrote and starred in "Kissing Jessica Stein" and who wrote, directed and starred in "Friends with Kids": David Goetsch, the co-executive producer on "The Big Bang Theory" who grew up in East Lyme; Trey Ellis, professor of film at Columbia University; Janet Grillo, professor of film at NYU-Tisch; and Ann Nyberg, WTNH TV anchor and reporter. The film competition is open to middle school, high school and college students throughout the state. It challenges students to conceive and produce an original, lighthearted, short film that uses kindness as the central theme. Submissions are accepted through Friday.
