Chris Tucker in concert at Mohegan Sun
Chris Tucker is a performer who must believe that absence makes fans’ hearts grow fonder.
He has a tendency to lay low for a while and then pop back with a new project. Sometimes it’s an A-list movie like “Silver Linings Playbook” or Ang Lee’s “Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk.” And sometimes it’s stand-up performances, like the one he’ll do Sunday at Mohegan Sun Arena.
Reviews of earlier shows on this run praise his impersonations of Obama and Trump and his singing-and-dancing imitations of everyone from Mary J. Blige to Michael Jackson. (Jackson and Tucker were pals.) But, hey, Tucker is plenty entertaining just being himself.
Chris Tucker, 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Mohegan Sun Arena; $25-$45; 1-800-745-3000.
