Mothers Against Drunk Driving’s annual benefit held at Mohegan Sun has been a country-music-happy event in recent years.

For the 10th MADD About … festivities in 2018, the star performing was Maren Morris.

This year, for number 11, it’s another country luminary, Chris Janson.

Janson broke through as a recording artist with the irresistible single “Buy Me a Boat” in 2015, but he’d been an in-demand songwriter before that, co-writing such songs as “Truck Yeah” for Tim McGraw.

He’ll give a free performance Friday in the Mohegan Sun Wolf Den at MADD About Chris Janson. A silent auction will start at noon that day at The Shops at Mohegan Sun. All proceeds benefit MADD.
