CT Book Awards accepting submissions until April 30

The Connecticut Center for the Book at Connecticut Humanities is accepting submissions for the 2021 Connecticut Book Awards until 5 p.m. April 30. The awards recognize the best books by authors and illustrators from Connecticut or about Connecticut.

Categories are fiction, nonfiction, poetry, and books for young readers (subcategories are picture books, fiction and nonfiction).

A special category called the Bruce Fraser Spirit of Connecticut Award, named in honor of the center's longtime director, celebrates Connecticut's sense of place.

This year, Connecticut Center for the Book is participating in the Indie Author Project, a local author contest in partnership with Biblioboard. Submissions must be independently published, in the category of adult or young-adult fiction, written by a state resident, and available in either PDF or ePUB format.

Entrees are accepted in either or both competitions. Entree fees range from $40 to $100 depending on the print run. Physical books need to be delivered by May 15 to the Connecticut Center for the Book,100 Riverview Center, Suite 290, Middletown, CT, 06457. Comment threads are monitored for 48 hours after publication and then closed.
