    George A. Kling, Jr., 82, Branford

    George A. Kling, Jr., 82, of Branford, died on Feb. 2. He was the husband of the late Joan Barry Kling. George was born in New Haven on June 27, 1930, son of the late Alice Miller Kling and George A. Kling, Sr.  As a young man, he began his sales career at Branford's Ude Murray & Cannan, then later worked for Columbia Records and Dymo Industries in New York City before starting his own marketing consulting firm, Potential Profits Group. George thrived on his work, which brought him all over the world. He traveled extensively with his wife and family to such places as Japan, China, Morocco, Great Britain, Ireland, Hawaii, Bora Bora, Tahiti, and a yearly retreat to Key West.

    He is survived by his five children, who will greatly miss him, Debra Morawski and her husband Walter, Cheryl Kling and her husband Steve Scopino, Kerry Kling and his wife Ellen, Kimberly Sikora and her husband Andrew, and Christian Kling and his wife Susie. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, Barri Morawski, Colby Morawski and his wife Amanda, Sarah Kling, Codyanne Pauli, Travis and Dillion Kling, and Kyle and Wyatt Sikora; and a great-granddaughter, Jaelyn Turner. He is also survived by his beloved dogs, Diva and Pudge.

    There will be a memorial gathering at the W.S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 North Main St., Branford, on Tuesday, Feb. 5, from 5 to 7 p.m. A private service will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 6.
