William J. Gordon, 89, of Madison, died Nov. 22 at Yale-New Haven Hospital. He was a World War II veteran and an avid fisherman, and worked as a supervising engineer at AT&T in New York City prior to his retirement.

He is survived by his wife Helene of Madison; children Marianne of Carmel, New York and Thomas of Shelton; and his brother Robert and his family of Syracuse, New York.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held Saturday, Nov. 30 at 10 a.m. at St. Margaret’s Roman Catholic Church in Madison, followed by burial in West Cemetery, Madison. Swan Funeral Home, Clinton, is in charge of arrangements.
