Groton - Toby Handley's RBI double in the bottom of the sixth inning snapped a 3-3 tie and led the Mystic Schooners to a 4-3 win over the Plymouth Pilgrims in a New England Collegiate Baseball League game Sunday night.

Lou Iannotti (Quinnipiac) scored on the double by Handley (Stony Brook). Austin Schnabel (Arizona) picked up the win in relief and Jacob Hendren (Heartland CC) earned his first save of the season. Mystic's Dan Hoy (Princeton) tied the game with a two-run double in the bottom of the fifth inning. Stephen Laurino (Marist) was 3-for-4 for Mystic (11-5).

New York-Penn League

• The Connecticut Tigers jumped out to a 4-0 lead after three innings, but Tri-City rallied for a 6-4 win at Dodd Stadium in Norwich. Ross Kivett had two hits and drove in two runs, Rashad Brown was 3-for-5 and Garrett Mattlage, Michael Gerber and Brown each had a double for the Tigers (8-9).

Zone VI Legion

• Bill Buscetto was the winning pitcher, had two hits and drove in two runs as Niantic beat Willimantic 7-6. David Peck singled, doubled and drove in three runs, Mike Morgan had two hits and two RBI and Owen Tretter and Hunter Sheffield had doubles for Niantic (12-3).

• Montville and Waterford split a doubleheader, with Montville taking the opener 4-3 and Waterford winning the second game 6-1. Adam Goss had five hits and three RBI on the day with a double and triple, Kyle Willoughby had three hits in the second game and Will Archambault had two hits and scored twice in the second game for Waterford (11-4). In the opener, Anthony Malchiodi (three stolen bases), Brandon Haas, Stan Kesilewski and Patrick Halloran had two hits each for Montville (7-9).

• Ledyard-Pawcatuck lost to Moosup, 12-2. Jordan Kowalski, Kavan Jakuba and Connor Gilbert had doubles for Ledyard-Pawcatuck (6-12).

• Jewett City took a 3-0 lead and held on to beat Norwich 3-2. Logan Gordon had two doubles for Norwich (1-13).

SEC 16-18 Babe Ruth

• Sean Lane pitched a five-hitter with seven strikeouts as Tri-County Salem beat Waterford 10-3. Austin Olzacki (two RBI, two runs) and Zack Dalton (two RBI) had three hits each and Connell Quercia singled, doubled and drove in two runs for Tri-County (2-4). Ryan Miller had two hits for Waterford (6-3).

• Matt Garcia pitched an eight-hitter as Tri-County Hebron beat Ledyard 4-2 Saturday. Evan August and Matthew McElwee had two hits each for Ledyard.

District 6 Babe Ruth (13)

• Max Adams and Bobby Silva combined to pitch a no-hitter as Waterford beat Tri-County 10-0. The game ended after five innings on a mercy rule. Noah Speller and Dylan Bosco each had a hit and drove in two runs for Waterford.

• Tom Mason had three hits as East Lyme beat New London 14-2. Blake Bragaw was the winning pitcher.

District 10 baseball (11-12)

• Thomas Wagner singled home Jack McDowell with one out in the bottom of the 12th inning, lifting Groton to a 2-1 win over New London on Saturday. New London took the lead in the top of the fourth when Elijah Morton, who had tripled, scored on a fielder's choice by Robert Otanez. Groton tied it in the bottom of the inning when starting pitcher Kyle Egan scored on a sacrifice fly by Noah Bautista.

Neither team scored for the next seven innings. Solid defensive plays and strikeouts from both teams made for quick innings and pitch counts took their toll on relief pitchers. New London's Steve Cantres led off the 11th with a single and moved to third on an error and passed ball. But Groton pitcher Chip Kamercia got out of trouble with a groundout back to him, a strikeout and a diving catch by Kyle Egan in center field to end the inning.

Sammy Lambert earned the win, pitching scoreless and hitless ball for 1 1-3 innings. Kamercia went 5 2-3 with no runs, three hits, 10 strikeouts and no walks. Egan gave up one hit and one run over the first five innings, striking out eight with three walks.

New London starter Otanez gave up one run and five hits over 6 2-3 innings, striking out 11 with no walks. Chris Medina went 4 2-3 in relief for New London, allowing three hits and one run with eight strikeouts and two walks.

District 10 baseball (10-11)

• Owen Robbins drove in the tying run and scored the go-ahead run as East Lyme beat Waterford 7-5 on Saturday. Willy Kane, Alex Fraser and Robbins each doubled and singled for East Lyme. Robert Zawacki had three hits, including a double, and Ryan O'Connell had two hits for Waterford.

• Drew Champagne went the distance for the win and had two hits as Pawcatuck/North Stonington beat Mystic 13-3 in five innings on Saturday. Ethan McCarthy had two hits, including a triple, for Pawcatuck/North Stonington and Mystic's Will Adams doubled.

District 10 baseball (9-10)

• Pawcatuck/North Stonington scored three runs with two outs in the bottom of the sixth inning to beat Lyme-Old Lyme 14-13. Pawcatuck/North Stonington advances to Tuesday's semifinals with the win. Wynn Hammond had a two-run single to win the game and Brandt Ogden was 5-for-5 and scored five runs for Pawcatuck/North Stonington. Patrick Flanagan and Alexander Roth had three hits each and Aiden Powers had two hits for Lyme-Old Lyme.

• Will Sutman and Evan McCue combined to pitch a four-hitter as Waterford beat East Haddam 5-1. Will Rocchetti and Sutman had two hits each, Mason Concascia tripled and Jordan Elci and Sutman had doubles for Waterford, which advanced to Tuesday's semifinals with the win.

• Jeffrey Lalima pitched a one-hitter and drove in three runs as Mystic advanced to Tuesday's semifinals with a 14-0 win over East Lyme. Jason Erb had two doubles, Timmy Lynch had a two-run double and Colin Anderson, Cam McGugan, Alex DelCampo and Lalima had two hits each for Mystic. Connor Dean's double was the only hit for East Lyme.

District 10 softball (9-10)

• Samantha Money pitched a one-hitter and went 3-for-3 as Ledyard beat North Stonington. Aaliyah Amidon and Sara Cox had two hits each catcher Iyana Kirvan made two strong defense plays for Ledyard. Abby Primett had the only hit for North Stonington.

In another game, Shylin Rock was the winning pitcher as New London beat Pawcatuck 11-9.
