New London police make arrest in dirt bike theft
New London — A 14-year-old juvenile was arrested Monday in connection with dirt bike motorcycle thefts in the city.
The juvenile male, who was not identified because of his age, was charged with third-degree larceny.
Police said as part of their ongoing investigation into the thefts, they responded to the area of Laurel Drive at about 7 p.m.
Police said the suspects look for dirt bike motorcycle sales on-line and make arrangements to meet the seller in New London. The “buyer” takes the motorcycle for a test ride and never returns.
During the course of the investigation, police were able to recover the stolen motorcycle in the rear of a yard at 193 Laurel Drive and arrest the juvenile.
Police said further arrests are expected.
