Teen charged with drunken driving after Griswold accident

Griswold — State police arrested a 17-year-old juvenile late Friday night after a vehicle the juvenile was driving struck a utility pole on the north side of Route 138, splitting the pole in two and causing power lines to hang in the roadway.

    No injuries occurred.

The juvenile, whose identity was withheld because of his or her age, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, evading responsibility and failure to drive right. The vehicle was towed from the scene.

A utility-company crew repaired the damage, police said.
