Norwich police, NPU warn about phone scam

Norwich — Police and Norwich Public Utilities are warning citizens about a telephone scam asking for payments from NPU customers.
Multiple businesses have received calls from a group posing as representatives from Norwich Public Utilities, saying their utility services will be terminated without an immediate security deposit.
Customers receiving the calls are asked to notify police about the scam and contact NPU using the telephone number provided on their monthly utility bills.
