Updated: Motorcyclist killed in I-395 crash in Waterford
Waterford ― A 60-year-old motorcyclist died Monday in a crash on Interstate 395 that closed the highway for several hours.
At 11:30 a.m., state police said a Ford Fiesta driven by 36-year-old Jillian Hayman of Boston was traveling south on I-395 when she slowed for traffic a half mile from the Interstate 95 interchange.
Hayman’s car was struck in the rear by a Harley Davidson motorcycle driven by Marc Pennino, 60, of Monroe. Pennino, who was not wearing a helmet, was thrown from his motorcycle. He was taken to Lawrence + Memorial Hospital where police said he was pronounced dead.
Police said the highway reopened at 2:49 p.m.
The crash remains under investigation. Witnesses to the crash are asked to contact Trooper Christopher Brett at (860) 848-6500.
