    Deep River Police Incident Report for Oct. 23 to 25

    The Valley Courier publishes a Police Incident Report to inform residents of incidents, criminal activities, and police responses occurring in the towns of Essex, Deep River, and Chester. As those charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty, the report does not include names. It may be edited for space and content.

    Wednesday, Oct. 23

    • No arrests were made and no incidents were reported.

    Thursday, Oct. 24

    • No arrests were made.

    • A 51 year-old Avon man was issued a citation at 2:43 p.m. for making a restricted turn after the 2004 Ford F-250 he was operating southbound on Hammock Drive approaching Route 80 veered in a westerly direction and struck a wire rope guard rail and CL&P pole number 1041. No injuries were reported at the scene as a result of the accident.

    Friday, Oct. 25

    • At 11:27 a.m. Trooper Dawn Taylor reported that an unidentified male driver was stopped on Route 9 for traveling at 81 miles per hour in a 65 mile per hour zone, for which he was issued a citation, and he was also arrested and charged on an outstanding warrant (the warrant charges were not specified) and operating a motor vehicle while under license suspension. He was processed on combined $4,000 bond amount. No other details of the incident were available at press time.

    • The theft of a vehicle was investigated on the mid-100 block of Westbrook Road by Trooper Gregory Smith at 12:27 p.m.
