Groton — Police said they're closing in on finding the two people they believe were involved in the Sunday afternoon shooting of a man in the 99 Restaurant parking lot.
Groton Town police Lt. John Varone said police aren't releasing more details about the suspects at this time.
The shooting occurred about 4:40 p.m. in the parking lot of the 117 Long Hill Road restaurant. Varone said the male victim, who was shot in the abdomen, underwent surgery overnight at Yale-New Haven Hospital.
None of the three people involved was a patron of the restaurant, Varone said.
He reiterated that police believe the shooting was targeted and that there's no ongoing risk to the public.
