Groton City police to host 'Stuff a Cruiser' event

Groton — City police will hold a "Stuff a Cruiser" food drive and coat drive from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Dec. 2 at the Groton City Municipal Building, 295 Meridian St.

The police are partnering with the United States Marine Corps Toys for Tots program during the event to collect toys to distribute to children locally, according to a news release.

The City of Groton Police pickup also will be on hand to collect nonperishable food items for the Gemma E. Moran United Way/Labor Food Center. In addition, police officers, in partnership with St. John’s Church of Groton, will accept new and gently used coats to ensure people are warm during the coming winter months.
