Police: Teen in custody after stabbing at Foxwoods mall

Mashantucket — Tribal police are investigating a stabbing at the Tanger Outlet mall Saturday afternoon that involved four youths.

At 2:18 p.m., a stabbing that involved four people occurred at the mall at the Foxwoods Resort Casino, according to a statement from Capt. George Potts of the Mashantucket Tribal Police Department.

Three young adult victims were transported to a local hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening, Potts said in the statement. A 15-year-old suspect was arrested, he said.

"The incident was immediately contained, with no lockdown needed and regular business quickly resumed," the statement said.

Foxwoods also issued a brief statement Saturday evening: “We want to express our gratitude to our onsite first responders for their professionalism and rapid response, which effectively intercepted the incident and ensured safety and security for our guests, tenants and employees. Our thoughts and prayers continue to be with all those involved with or affected by this incident."

The investigation was continuing Saturday night. No further information was immediately available.
