Man wanted in shooting in Massachusetts captured in Ledyard

A man wanted in a shooting in Massachusetts last week was ordered held in lieu of a $1 million bond Monday during an appearance in New London Superior Court.

Robert N. Stallone, 41, was arrested by Ledyard police on Friday and held as a fugitive from justice. Authorities in Massachusetts had been looking for Stallone since the March 5 shooting and had issued a bulletin about the possibility he was staying near Foxwoods Casino. He was considered armed and dangerous.

Ledyard police spotted Stallone’s vehicle on Friday on Route 214, between Shewville Road and Elizabeth George Drive. He was stopped and arrested without incident.

Stallone waived his right to contest an extradition back to Massachusetts during Monday’s court appearance.
