    Drugs, firearms, cash seized in arrest of New London man

    New London — Police arrested a city man on drug and weapons charges Thursday after authorities served a search warrant at an apartment on Truman Street and found firearms, cocaine, marijuana, cash and drug paraphernalia, police said.

    Kenneth Barnhill, 37, of 111 Truman St., Apt. 6, was charged with criminal possession of a firearm, two counts of possession of narcotics, two counts of possession of narcotics with intent to sell and operating a drug factory.

    Initially held, he later was released on a $150,000 cash or surety bond.

    About 2 p.m. Thursday, members of the New London Police Department Vice and Narcotics Unit and Emergency Response Team and members of the Statewide Narcotics Task Force East served a warrant at Barnhill’s address. They seized two firearms, ammunition, about 35 grams of powder cocaine, a small amount of crack cocaine, about 4 ounces of marijuana, $97,331 in U.S. currency and various packaging materials and scales.
