    H.S. soccer: Stonington girls beat Bacon for ninth straight win

    Colchester — Stonington won its ninth straight match and remained in sole possession of the Eastern Connecticut Conference Division II lead with a 2-1 girls’ soccer victory over Bacon Academy on Wednesday.

    Careligh O’Keefe and Carly Constantine each scored goals for the Bears (10-1, 5-0) while Maya Terwilliger added an assist and goalie Kelsea Anderson made four saves.

    Bacon is 7-3-1, 3-2.

    In other matches:

    • Ledyard spotted Killingly an early 1-0 lead before goals by Maddie McLeod and Cassie Rice rallied the Colonels to a 2-1 win in an ECC Division II match. Jess English and Delaney Vaudrey had assists for Ledyard (7-2-1, 2-2-1) and goalie Bella Drummond made five saves.

    • Goals by Paige Jessuck and Bryn Dickinson carried Waterford to a 2-0 non-league win over Old Lyme. Charlotte Jessuck assisted on Paig Jessuck’s first-half goal for the Lancers (5-5-1) and goalie Victoria Sturm made four saves. Old Lyme is 4-5-1.

    • Chloe Rapose scored both goals as East Granby handed Lyman Memorial its first loss, 2-0, in a non-league game. Phoebe Carpenter made five saves for the Bulldogs (9-1-1).

    • Jada Cheung scored a goal in each half as Montville defeated Griswold 2-0 in an ECC Division III match. Avery Bouchey assisted on the first goal for Montville (6-3-2, 4-1), Bella Estella the second and goalie Katie Myjak stopped three shots to earn the shutout. Hannah Service made 12 saves in goal for the Wolverines (3-6, 1-3).

    • Wheeler and Tourtellotte played to a 1-1 double overtime draw in an ECC Division IV match. The Lions (3-6-1, 0-3-1) scored their lone goal in the first hjalf when Marissa Perkins converted a corner kick from Katie Pierce.

    • Junior captain Italia Salls made 10 saves for New London during a 5-0 loss to Windham in an ECC Division III match. The Whalers are 1-8, 0-4.

    • Williams and Wooster played to a 4-4 draw in Danbury when Marlee Anselmi converted a game-tying penalty kick with less than a minute to play. Anselmi finished with three goals for the Blues, Lucy Fader scored once and Skylar Frost had three assists.

    Boys

    • Sal Alessio scored four goals as Stonington defeated New London 9-0 in an ECC Division II match. Brandon Tavares added a pair of goals and an assist for the Bears (8-2-3, 4-1) while Anders Dahl had one goal and one assist, Ryan Turner and Sergio DeOliveira each scored once, Brett Caron had two assists and Josh Lord and Connor Tavares had one assist apiece. New London is 0-9-1, 0-5.
