    H.S. softball: East Lyme edges Killingly 1-0 as Robinson allows just two hits with 12 strikeouts

    East Lyme — Grace DuBrava drove in Avery Stadler with a first-inning single and Abby Robinson pitched a two-hit shutout to lead East Lyme to a 1-0 softball victory over Killingly on Thursday.

    Robinson had 12 strikeouts and walked one.

    Ava Roach had two hits for the Vikings (1-0).

    In other games:

    • Emilia Podeszwa went 5-for-5 with four runs scored and two RBI as Waterford defeated Ledyard 15-5. Brielle Kenney homered and drove in four runs for the Lancers (1-1) and Grace Muti had four hits. Mia Starling had three hits for Ledyard (0-2).

    • Plainfield defeated Wheeler 5-4 as Izzy Deledda had two hits and two RBI for the Lions and Makayla Delzer added two hits.

    • Olivia Kane went 2-for4 with a home run and two RBI as St. Bernard defeated Montville 14-2. Aubree Nygaard also homered for the Saints (1-2). Taryn Feragne drove in two runs for Montville (0-2).

    • Jillian Dykema had three hits and two runs scored as Norwich Free Academy defeated Woodstock Academy 14-6. Leah Manke had two hits and two runs scored, winning pitcher Hailey Smith also had two hits and Aubrey Martin and Emma McAvoy had two hits apiece for the Wildcats (3-0).

    • Winning pitcher Alina Skrabacz struck out 15 as New London defeated Putnam 11-3. Nichelle Tucker had two hits and three runs scored for the Whalers (1-0) while Gabriella Santiago Cruz scored three runs.

    • Kelsea Anderson had three hits and two RBI as Stonington defeated Lyman Memorial 10-3. Gracelyn Smith, Ari Scavello and Sophia Dutra had two hits apiece for the Bears (3-0). Kassidy LaTour and Morgan Hayes had two hits apiece for Lyman (1-1).

    • Fitch defeated Griswold 22-0 in five innings. Sydney Lyon, Abriel Carey and Katie MacPherson homered for the Falcons (2-0) while Maerin Lyon had four hits and Grace Jenkins went 3-for-4.

    • Grasso Tech lost to Prince Tech 26-24 in a Connecticut Technical Conference game on Wednesday. Nutaunis Brown homered, scored four runs and pitched the first five innings for Grasso (0-2) and Azarria Darden scored six runs.
