    Local roundup: Fitch co-op clinches ECC swimming title

    East Lyme — The Fitch co-op team clinched its second straight Eastern Connecticut Conference swimming title with a 110-73 win over East Lyme on Tuesday.

    Sophia Pacheco, Kaitlyn Kumpf and Anna Orphanides won two events each for Fitch, which also has swimmers from Stonington, New London, and Wheeler. Pacheco won the 200-yard freestyle (2:03.98) and 500 freestyle (5:33.56), Kumpf won the 200 individual medley (2:26.64) and 100 backstroke (1:05.76) and Orphanides took the 50 freestyle (25.91) and 100 butterfly (1:03.34).

    Jai-Lynn Wheeler and Laura Letellier also won events for the Falcons (7-0, 6-0) and Elliott Singer, Sian Crespo, Lauren Bullock and Haley Singer helped them sweep the three relays.

    Jenna Levine of East Lyme won the diving with a score of 175.80. The Vikings (4-2, 4-2) look to defend their ECC Championship meet title, a title they’ve won for 22 straight years, on Nov. 4.

    H.S. girls’ soccer

    • Adyson Wiseman scored twice and had an assist as Waterford beat St. Bernard. Paige Jessuck had a goal and two assists, Anna Waddington scored, Camryn Dickinson had an assist and Victoria Sturm made four saves for the Lancers (10-1-2). Caitlyn Kuhn made 13 saves for the Saints (7-5).

    • Paige Allard score once in each half as Griswold beat Wheeler 4-0. Natalie Becotte and Zia Lear also scored for the Wolverines (4-8-1). Griswold outshot Wheeler (6-6) 15-6.

    H.S. boys’ soccer

    • Williams School lost to Watkinson School 4-1 on Monday. Aarav Patel scored and Lukas Lucht made 10 saves for the Blues (1-8-1).
