    Local roundup: CIAC soccer finals schedule is announced

    The CIAC announced its schedule for this weekend’s soccer championships at Trinity Health Stadium in Hartford.

    Three teams from the Eastern Connecticut Conference will be playing for titles.

    There are two games on Saturday. The Class L boys’ title game has No. 3 East Lyme taking on No. 8 Notre Dame of West Haven at 12:45 p.m. The Class M girls’ final follows at 3:30 p.m., with No. 11 Bacon Academy facing top seed Suffield.

    No. 17 Stonington plays in the Class M boys’ final on Sunday at 3:30 p.m., taking on No. 14 Lewis Mills.

    H.S. girls’ swimming

    • Waterford finished11th in the CIAC Class S Championships with 192 points on Wednesday night at Southern Connecticut State University. Old Lyme/Valley Regional/Old Saybrook was 21st and Weston won the title with 741 points.

    The Lancers’ top finish was seventh in the 400 freestyle relay. The team of Elizabeth Jane Saucier, Zaya Haglund, Hannah Blomberg and Julia Gathy finished in 4:04.35. Blomberg had the top individual finish, coming in ninth in the 100 breaststroke at 1:14.69.

    Also scoring points for Waterford were Luciana Juliani, Jiarou Liao, Kyijong Tenzin, Emily Roy and Victoria Matyakubov. The Old Lyme co-op got its points with a 13th-place finish in diving by Bethany Erkkila.

    H.S. football

    • All tickets must be purchased at the gates on Thanksgiving Day morning for the Fitch at Ledyard game at Bill Mignault Field in Ledyard. Ticket gates will open at 8:45 a.m. for the 10 a.m. game. Tickets are $10 for all spectators, adults, senior citizens and students and are cash only sales. Tickets will not be available on Go Fan and we are not selling tickets in advance at either school.
