Local college roundup: Ford lifts Camels to win in men’s lacrosse
Lewiston, Maine — JJ Ford scored two goals in the final 3:06 and Connecticut College rallied past Bates, 13-12, in a New England Small College Athletic Conference men’s lacrosse game on Saturday.
Will Rice made two saves late in regulation to preserve the win for Conn (3-5, 1-5).
Women’s lacrosse
• Connecticut College rallied late, but fell to Bates, 12-9, in a NESCAC game. Aine Downey had five goals for the Camels (6-5, 2-5).
Softball
• Coast Guard swept Emerson 16-0 and 4-3 in a New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference doubleheader. Christine Carey went 3-4 with three RBI and Abriana Schmutz had two hits and three RBI for the Bears.
Baseball
• Vito Giordano pitched eight innings and allowed one run and Richard Barkley had three RBI as Coast Guard defeated Salve Regina, 6-5 in game one of a doubleheader in the NEWMAC. The Bears lost game two, 6-5.
