    H.S. track: Childs wins four events as Lancers roll to victory

    Waterford — Elliot Childs won four events as Waterford beat Stonington 122-27 in an Eastern Connecticut Conference Division II boys’ track meet on Wednesday.

    Childs won the 100 hurdles (15.1), 300 hurdles (40.7), long jump (19-9) and triple jump (41-2). Gabe Lombardi, Titus Olson and Rhys Tickner were double winners for the Lancers (3-0, 2-0). Lombardi won the 100 (11.4) and 200 (23.2), Olson won the 400 (53.4) and 800 (2:07) and Tickner won the javelin (143-7) and high jump (5-10). Ethan Harris won the shot put for Stonington (1-2, 0-1).

    In other meets:

    • Ledyard picked up a pair of ECC Division II wins, beating Bacon Academy 81-69 and New London 104-40. Diego Rosario-Gonzalez won the 110 hurdles (16.8) and 300 hurdles (44.1) for the Colonels (2-1, 2-0). Liam Sweeney of Bacon (1-3, 1-2) won the shot put (49-11.5) and discus (136-10) and Tyree Barnes and Treyvon Lewellen won events for New London (0-2, 0-2). Bacon beat New London 108.33-33.67.

    • Tom Matlock won a pair of events as East Lyme beat Woodstock Academy 117.67-32.33 in an ECC Division I meet. Matlock won the shot put (54.2.5) and discus (143-8).

    • Griswold beat Montville 77.75-71.25 in an ECC Division III meet and also beat Wheeler 104-36. Montville beat Wheeler 94-36. Jaylon Raphael and Adam Sheridan won three events each for Montville (1-2, 0-1). Raphael won the 100 (12.3), 200 (26.3) and long jump (19-3) and Sheridan won the 110 hurdles (18.0), 300 hurdles (40.3) and pole vault (10-0).

    • Kaiden Chandler won the 1,600 (4:51.6) and 3,200 (10:17) Tuesday to help lead Fitch to a 113-37 victory over Lyman Memorial. Porter Carter and Evan Vitagliano each won an event and were on winning relays teams for Fitch (3-0). Kenyon Morrissette won the 100 (11.7) and 200 (23.6) for Lyman (0-1).

    H.S. girls’ track

    • Kate Littler won two events as Ledyard (63) picked up ECC Division II wins over Bacon Academy (78-72) and New London (115-34). Littler won the 800 (2:32.2) and 1600 (5:54.7) for the Colonels (3-0, 2-0). Ashleen Walsh and Jessica-Willow Harris were double winners for Bacon (1-3, 1-2) and Darielys Arnold won two events for New London (0-2, 0-2). Bacon beat New London 107-40.

    • Montville beat Griswold 106.5-38.5 in an ECC Division III meet and also beat Wheeler 114-31. Tiana Bamber and Evelyn Granskog were double winners for the Wolves (3-0, 1-0). Madison Pudvah won two events for Griswold, which beat Wheeler 89-42. Kaitlyn Kumpf won two events for Wheeler.

    • Waterford beat Stonington 112-26 in an ECC Division II meet. Lucy Walker won the shot put (29-9.5) and discus (84-8) for the Lancers (3-0, 2-0). Stonington is 0-3, 0-1.

    • East Lyme lost to Woodstock 106-43 in an ECC Division I meet. Teagan Czaja and Aubrey Jorgensen won events for the Vikings (0-2, 0-1).

    • Grace Noland won the shot put and discus for Fitch in a 77-55 victory over Lyman Memorial on Tuesday. Emily McKelvey (100, 300 hurdles) and Hazel DeLucia (800, 3,200) won two events each for Lyman (0-1). Fitch is 2-1.
