Niantic Bay Playhouse opens its 2024 season with the comedy “Lend Me a Tenor,” which will run Friday through April 7.

The Ken Ludwig play centers on a renowned tenor who disappears before an important performance of the opera “Otello.” What follows is a full-on farce, with misunderstandings, mistaken identities, and lots of comic chaos.

The cast, directed by Erin Sousa-Stanley, features Keith Brayne, Nathan Russo, Erin Healy, Shawn Procuniar, Suzil Von, Susan Maguire, Carly Mastriano, and Patrick Wall.

    “Lend Me a Tenor,” Friday-April 7, Niantic Bay Playhouse, 279 Main St., Niantic; 7:30 p.m. Thurs.-sat. and 2 p.m. Sun.; $30 adults, $27 seniors, $25 students; (860) 850-5072, nianticbayplayhouse.org.
