Two named to commission to study judge's salaries
Chief Justice Chase T. Rogers announced the appoints Friday of longtime legislator William R. Dyson and Fairfield County businessman Joseph J. McGee to the Commission on Judicial Compensation.
The General Assembly established the commission this past session to examine and make recommendations regarding the salaries of state judges. The executive, legislative and judicial branches will appoint 12 members of the commission.
Dyson, who served on the legislature for 32 years, holds the Governor William A. O’Neill Endowed Chair in Public Policy and Practical Politics at Central Connecticut State University.
McGee is vice president of public policy and programs for The Business Council of Fairfield County.
The other appointments have not yet been announced.
State judges last received a pay increase in 2007. They are paid from $146,000 to $176,000 per year.
