When the city becomes a buffet: New London’s Spring Food Stroll

Chew on this: New London’s Spring Food Stroll brings out food and fun on Wednesday at venues all around downtown.

By now, you know how this works, right? You buy a food-stroll button (preferably in advance, since these events usually sell out). You get access to restaurants, where you sample fare made just for the occasion. You can listen to musicians, and you can pop into shops and arts and cultural institutions.

As for the culinary creations, they promise to be an eclectic selection from establishments ranging from Flava of Jamaica to Northern Indian Restaurant to The Seehund German Pub & Restaurant to Tony D’s to Berry’s Ice Cream & Candy Bar.

The food will be judged in most creative, best dessert and other categories; the arbiters panel consists of Timothy Grills, director of nutrition services, TVCCA; Jill Blanchette, production editor, The Day; Joan Gordon, restaurant reviewer, Norwich Bulletin, and Peter Lehmuller, dean, College of Culinary Arts Cuisinart Center for Culinary Excellence, Johnson & Wales.

A Fan Favorite winner will be determined by Instagram votes.
