Coast Guard Academy places men's cross country team on probation

The U.S. Coast Guard Academy has completed its investigation of misconduct involving members of the Coast Guard Academy men's cross country team that occurred in September 2020. This investigation substantiated inappropriate behavior by several cadet team members.

As a result of the investigation, the team was placed into a probationary status for the fall 2021 season.

The Academy reported this incident, as required, to the NCAA Division III governance. On June 29, 2021, the NCAA affirmed that the Academy took necessary action to address the concerns, illustrating the institution's adherence to NCAA Division III's defined institutional controls. The NCAA issued no further recommendations to the Academy with regard to this incident.
