North Stonington home rehabilitation program to close in December

North Stonington — The town is reminding residents that a housing rehabilitation program that offers homeowners zero interest loans to make basic house repairs will expire in December.

The program covers repairs that include plumbing, heating, roofing and septic, as well as doors and windows.

Eligible residents must have at least 10 percent equity in their home, be current with their taxes and meet an income limit of $46,000 for a single person and $65,700 for a four-person home, which are set by the Department of Housing and Urban Development.

The program is awarded through the Department of Housing and Urban Development as well as the state Department of Housing.

Information and applications may be obtained by calling the town's housing rehab consultants, Lisa Low & Associates, at (203) 888-5624 or email info@lisalowassociates.com.
