Antje Duvekot headlines Friday Night Folk
New London's Friday Night Folk series continues with a performance by Antje Duvekot in the All Souls Unitarian Universalist Congregation.
The German-born Duvekot, now based in Somerville, Mass., is touring behind her latest album, "New Siberia," a thematic work that explores some of the painful experiences she had growing up.
Duvekot is a many-splendored artist and has won such prestigious songwriting awards as the Kerrville New Folk Competition's Best New Folk Award, the Boston Music Award for Outstanding Folk Act, and a Grand Prize trophy in the John Lennon Songwriting Contest.
Chester's folk-a-billy heroes, the Meadows Brothers, open.
