Anderson .Paak hits Sun Arena Thursday

If you're a computer, and the brainiacs who manufactured you have programmed auto-spell or that intuitive algorithm that makes you provide the next word before the human can type it — even if that's not the word the human wanted — you were probably happier when there was only "Breezy Lovejoy."

As the person trying to type on the computer, I certainly was.

Yes, the name Breezy Lovejoy is beyond silly, but that's what singer/rapper/producer Brandon Paak Anderson chose to call himself at one point early in his career. Then success started to happen, and the wizards guiding Breezy's career must have determined that Breezy Lovejoy was either too silly or not silly enough because, all of a sudden, the artist became Anderson .Paak — and, no, that's not a typo.

In fact, it took THIS human a few times to type Anderson .Paak as it's meant to look — with the "space/period/no-space/last-name" affectation because the computer didn't think that was right. The helpful computer kept auto-correcting so that the period came after Anderson, like this: Anderson. instead of with space the way Anderson .Paak wants it, if you see what I mean.

And don't even get me started on "Paak." Like he's Finnish or something. The computer doesn't like Finnish and kept re-doing it so it read "Pack."

    Sigh.

Anyhoo, the Grammy-nominated artist appears Thursday at the Mohegan Sun Arena on his new "Best Teef in the Game" tour — whatever — and he's backed by his new band, The Free Nationals.

Anderson .Paak, 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Mohegan Sun Arena; Earl Sweatshirt and Thundercat appear in support; $54.25; 1-800-745-3000.
