Hygienic presents Caribbean Touch event Sunday
Sure, you can put on a Hawaiian shirt and grill some fish tacos or even try to surf. But few things are more instantly evocative in that summery, Tropical sense than the sounds of a Force-5 hurricane.
Wait! I meant to say more evocative than a Caribbean steel drum band. If you hear one performing, why, a fruity rum drink in a frost-beaded glass miraculously appears in your hand and you suddenly have sand crusted on your feet!
Don't believe it? On Sunday afternoon, head to New London's Hygienic Art Park for their Caribbean Touch event featuring the Caribbean Vibe Steel Drum Band. DJ Leo also appears and, to complete the atmosphere, islands-style food and beverages will be available for purchase — and don't even pretend you're not gonna dance. Social distancing enouraged and masks required.
Caribbean Touch featuring the Caribbean Vibe Steel Drum Band, 3-6 p.m. Sunday, Hygienic Art Park, 79 Bank St., New London; $10, hygienic.org.
