The Boss is back in town

Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band (courtesy brucespringsteen.net)

The Day hired a tech/data firm to find out if there are any superlatives that have never been used in print to describe a concert by Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band.

Well, $23,000 in research fees later, we’ve learned that A) no, there aren’t any superlatives left to describe a concert by Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, and B) if we’d just held onto that $23,000, we could almost afford a ticket to Sunday’s concert by the Boss and his boys Sunday in the Mohegan Sun Arena.

Several years back, some contrarian writing for a hipster indie publication actually panned a Springsteen show, opining, “Snore. Give me Pavement every time.” He was burned as a witch.

Anyway, if you’ve got ducats for Sunday’s show, you know what you’re in for: a (fill in combo of superlatives here) performance.

Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Mohegan Sun Arena; sold out, resale seats $449-$1,659; www.mohegansun.com.
