Hamburg Fair turns 113
If you're hitting your 113th anniversary, you must be doing something right.
The Hamburg Fair is, in fact, marking its 113th year this weekend. This fest still pulls in lots of fans each August with its entertaining mix of traditional elements and fresh fun.
This year's festivities - sporting everything from produce exhibits to animal pulls to handcraft competitions - run Friday through Sunday at the Lyme Grange Fairgrounds.
Carnival rides will whirl visitors around, and concerts will have them moving to the music. For the kiddies, there are special games from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday: pie eating, watermelon eating, nail driving, and a balloon toss.
